Luka Nikolić is the President of the MMA Federation of Serbia and the European MMA Federation, and a long-time contributor to the development of the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA) at the international level.
He began his MMA career in 2011, training at the American Top Team academy in Florida, while further developing his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills in Brazil and the United States. He holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which was awarded to him in 2024 at the Renzo Gracie Academy.
Since 2020, he has served as the head of the MMA Federation of Serbia, where he has led key reforms and development projects that contributed to the institutional strengthening of the sport. In 2026, he also assumed leadership of the European MMA Federation. Under his leadership, MMA received official recognition from the Ministry of the Republic of Serbia in 2024, granting the sport full institutional recognition in the country.
During his mandate, Serbia became one of the most important centers for amateur MMA in Europe, hosting IMMAF World and European Championships in Belgrade, as well as launching a new regional competition — the IMMAF Balkan Championship. The first national scholarship program for MMA athletes was also introduced, along with an accredited educational program for coaches and sports professionals in cooperation with the Sports Academy in Belgrade.
Nikolić has established cooperation with numerous domestic and international institutions, including government bodies, sports organizations, professional MMA promotions, and leading media partners. The goal of this cooperation is the continued development of MMA as a sport and the creation of new opportunities for European athletes. His vision focuses on strengthening MMA federations across Europe, developing young talent, and building clear professional pathways for future generations of MMA fighters.
