Jesus Ubaldo Marroquín Rodriguez, mostly known on the martial arts realm as “El Zorro” Marroquin, Pioneer of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Jiu-Jitsu in Mexico. His career includes a successful MMA and BJJ competitor, earning three belts in different MMA leagues, and a distinguished career as a coach, academies administrator, and martial arts reporter and television channel.
He was one of the first Jiu-Jitsu black belts competitors in Mexico and one of the first BJJ MMA fighters. His work helped introduce and popularize these disciplines in the country.
In 1997, he founded Olimpo Academy Brand, a chain of martial arts academies with more than 12 branches, currently headquartered in Nuevo León, Mexico, where classes are offered in MMA, Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, Tae Kwon Do, and Boxing.
He is the current president of the Mexican Federation of Mixed Martial Arts Equity and Fair Play, A.C. and the Pan American Mixed Martial Arts Confederation.
Under his leadership, the Mexican Federation (FAMM) has experienced remarkable growth in its sporting and regulatory structure. In terms of sporting results, the Mexican national team has achieved historic success, winning gold, silver, and bronze medals at the IMMAF World Championships and winning the Pan American Team Championship five times, positioning Mexico as a powerhouse in the sport.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National System of Physical Culture and Sport (SINADE), under the Mexican Ministry of Sport, where he has contributed his expertise to the development of sport in Mexico nation wide.
