IMMAF Champion DiSegni shines in pro debut

[spb_text_block pb_margin_bottom=”no” pb_border_bottom=”no” width=”1/1″ el_position=”first last”] The 2015 IMMAF Women’s flyweight world champion, Micol DiSegni, claimed a one-sided unanimous decision victory to mark her professional MMA debut at EFC 44 in Johannesburg, South Africa, on October 3. In July, DiSegni earned the gold medal at this year’s IMMAF World Championships of Amateur MMA in Las Vegas. The Italian defeated Sweden’s Anja Saxmark in the final of the Women’s 125lb division and later announced her decision to turn professional with South Africa’s leading promotion. DiSegni shone in all areas of her game, getting the best of the striking exchanges as well as dominating in the grappling department, as reported by Italy’s Micol De Segni completed the foreign invasion at EFC 44 with her unanimous victory over local favourite Danella Eliasov, showing tremendous technical ability in all facets of MMA. The fight opened with De Segni dominating the stand up exchanges in the first round, and then cruising through rounds two and three with some clinical wrestling. Finland’s Minna Grusander will be the next IMMAF veteran to mark their pro debut, at Fight Night Finland promotions’ “FNF 10″ event in Turku, Finland, on October 10. Grusander also claimed gold at the 2015 IMMAF World Championships when she won the Women’s strawweight category. [/spb_text_block]
