The Pan American Mixed Martial Arts Federation held an Extraordinary General Assembly in Mexico on September 15, 2026. The meeting took place during the 2026 IMMAF Pan American Championships.
The Assembly was called by PCMMA President Ubaldo Marroquin following a request from one-third of the federation’s members.
The panel featured IMMAF President Kerrith Brown and IMMAF Director for Pan America Tom Madsen. They were joined by Non-Executive Director Mohamed Ali Qamber and Director of Member Services Gosha Malik. Ubaldo Marroquin and Pan American Vice President Jason Fraser were also part of the panel.
The Assembly gave members the opportunity to review the federation’s activities and finances. It also provided a space to discuss other matters concerning PCMMA and its members.
Several proposals were discussed. One was to create an annual process to schedule the Pan American Championships. A dedicated subcommittee was approved for this.
Members also approved plans for regular board meetings, with a standard agenda and clearer communication of meeting outcomes.
A financial subcommittee will also be created. Its role will include setting up a federation bank account and establishing financial governance processes.
All the proposals received the support of the Assembly and are now pending implementation.
Speaking about the development of MMA in Pan America, Tom Madsen said:
“The Pan-American MMA world and PCMMA continue to grow and with excellent events, the sport is being cemented as a core discipline for future athletes and a spectacle for viewers.”
CMMA President Ubaldo Marroquin described the meeting as “very productive”. He explained that members also discussed the work being done to obtain official recognition for MMA.
“It was a great opportunity to continue strengthening our collaboration, setting clear goals, and working together for the future of Mixed Martial Arts throughout the Americas ”, Marroquin said.
