IMMAF Updates Championship Hosting Bid Book for National Federations

The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) Competition Bidding Commission has officially released an updated Championship Bid Book, providing National Federations with a comprehensive framework to apply to host future IMMAF Championships.

The updated bid structure reflects IMMAF’s continued commitment to delivering world-class amateur MMA events while supporting the sustainable growth of the sport through international collaboration, governance standards, education and long-term development opportunities.

IMMAF Vice President Wissam Abi Nader stated:

The updated bidding procedures provide our member federations with a transparent and equal opportunity to bring a world-class IMMAF Championship to their country, working alongside governments, stakeholders and sponsors. With IMMAF’s expertise and support, hosts can deliver a gold-standard event while contributing to the continued development of MMA. Our shared goal is to ensure the sport remains safe, accessible and professionally governed for athletes across every continent.

Hosting an IMMAF Championship provides National Federations and host nations with the opportunity to stage a premier international amateur MMA event while positioning themselves as a recognised hub for global sport and MMA development. Events attract athletes and officials from across the world, deliver international broadcast and media exposure, and create lasting development opportunities through IMMAF education, training and licensing programmes. Hosts also benefit from marketing, PR and partnership support while strengthening national athlete pathways and federation growth.

IMMAF Board Member Tom Madsen added:

IMMAF Championships generate measurable public value through international visibility, tourism promotion and economic activity linked to event delivery and visitor engagement. Events also support community participation, grassroots sport development and youth engagement, while contributing to long-term education, governance and workforce development through accredited training and operational experience.

National Federations interested in hosting future IMMAF Championships are encouraged to review the updated Bid Book and engage with the Competition Bidding Commission to explore available opportunities. Through collaboration with member federations, governments and key stakeholders, IMMAF remains committed to expanding access to world-class amateur MMA events and supporting the continued global development of the sport.
