IMMAF Holds First European Elective General Assembly, Elects New Leadership

On the 14th of February 2026, European members of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) gathered in Belgrade for the first European Elective General Assembly, marking a milestone moment for the governance and future direction of amateur MMA across the continent.

Delegates reviewed the manifestos of the nominated candidates, each underscoring key priorities: strengthening European unity, accelerating the development of MMA, expanding the championship platform, and advancing efforts toward government support and official recognition.

Martin Lewandowski, founder of Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki (KSW) and Chairman of MMA Polska, presented an overview of his work in both professional and amateur MMA. He highlighted sustained growth in participation, the expansion of national programmes, and his long term commitment to developing the sport across Poland and Europe.

Serbian MMA Federation President Luka Nikolic outlined three years of work within IMMAF, focusing on the delivery of continental and world championships, expanded educational cooperation, and strengthening government relations. His manifesto expressed a clear vision for a cohesive and strategically developed European MMA landscape.

Both candidates demonstrated strong credentials and dedication to the sport. In a notable display of unity and sportsmanship, Lewandowski withdrew his candidacy and publicly endorsed Nikolic, encouraging members to move their votes to Nikolic, whom he recognised as a capable, committed leader ready to advance European MMA.

Following presentations and member deliberations, IMMAF Europe elected its new executive team:

President: Luka Nikolic (Serbia)
Vice President: Marek Herda (Slovakia)
Vice President: Jo-Anne van der Vlugt (Netherlands)

The newly elected Board of Directors consists of:

Anton Blank (Ukraine)
Ludo Boulvin (Belgium)
Martin Lewandowski (Poland)
Stanislav Nedkov (Bulgaria)
Valér Papp (Hungary)
Luigi Perillo (Switzerland)
Arjan Rizaj (Albania)
