The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) has acknowledged a key governance development within African mixed martial arts, following the appointment of Angola’s Armando Carlos Diogo as Interim Second Vice President of the Africa MMA Confederation.
The decision was approved by majority vote during a duly constituted AMMAC Board meeting held on 30 January 2026, with quorum present. Diogo’s appointment takes immediate effect and will be submitted to the AMMAC General Assembly for formal ratification in line with established governance procedures.
IMMAF President Kerrith Brown and IMMAF CEO Densign White attended the meeting, underlining IMMAF’s continued commitment to transparent and accountable leadership structures across its continental confederations.
Africa remains a strategically important region for the growth of amateur MMA. Strengthened governance at continental level is expected to support sustainable development, improved coordination, and closer international alignment as the sport continues to expand across the region.
