Timur Bobylev made history for Czech MMA on the world stage, becoming the first-ever European Youth Champion for the Czech Republic, at the 2026 IMMAF European Championships, taking place from 5-15 February.
Representing the national team of the Czech Association of MMA (CSMMA), at the largest European Championships to date with over 1000 athletes, 13-year-old Bobylev competed in the 44kg Youth C division (ages 12–13) on Friday, delivering a flawless campaign against elite opposition from across the continent.
Timur dominated in the round-robin tournament, opening with a decisive stoppage victory over a Georgian opponent before securing a judges’ decision against Hungary to win the group stage.
Progressing into the knockout rounds, Bobylev showcased his technical excellence by submitting his second Georgian opponent with a triangle choke, earning his place in the grand final. In his toughest test of the tournament, Timur prevailed by judges’ decision against opposition from the highly regarded Ukraine national team, sealing the historic gold medal.
With this victory, Timur becomes the Czech Republic’s first European Youth Champion on the IMMAF stage — the premier international platform for amateur MMA and globally established proving ground for future stars of the sport.
