The Impact of IMMAF Junior Champ Amy Scully, the Emerging Content Creator Spotlighting Amateur MMA

The journey of Ireland’s Amy Scully at the 2024 IMMAF World Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, culminated in a sensational achievement as the junior atomweight contender secured the gold medal for the second consecutive year. 

Amy started her 2024 World Championships campaign with punch perfect momentum, securing a TKO stoppage against Uzbekistan’s Munisa Mirsidiqova. The Irish athlete followed this with a hard-fought unanimous decision win over Irann Orozco of the United States in the semi-finals, setting up a dramatic rematch with Poland’s Julia Glaz to decide the world title. Amy’s relentless and best performance to date scored a unanimous decision win over her greatest rival to date, after Glaz defeated Scully earlier this year at the European Championships.

Over the past year, the 19-year-old has illuminated the journey shared by countless young MMA competitors, sharing daily insights into life as an amateur athlete representing the Irish national team. on Instagram she has already amassed over 20,000 followers, discussing her experiences, training routines, and balancing content creation with her MMA career. 

Amy addresses her audience with her mantra to get “1% better each day.” Her commitment to growth and excellence brings attention to the prestige and relevance of amateur MMA at the IMMAF level, as well as the professionalism required of all national team competitors.
