IMMAF Members Convene for 2024 General Assembly to Approve 2023 Report and Set Strategic Priorities for 2025

On 9 November 2024, IMMAF members convened for the Ordinary General Assembly to review the 2023 achievements and chart strategic goals for the future. President Kerrith Brown, Interim Vice President Wissam Abi Nader, special guest Minister of Sport Adkham Ilkhamovich Ikramov, and the IMMAF Board of Directors were in attendance.

CEO Densign White led the agenda, which included the approval of the 2023 Activity Report, Annual Accounts, and the 2025 budget. PWC auditors, having been approved for a third consecutive year, will continue overseeing IMMAF’s financial transparency through 2025.

Representatives from 41 countries attended and were presented with a safeguarding report by Sophie Mueller. Mueller highlighted IMMAF’s achievements in athlete protection and introduced a new educational programme for members, set to launch in early 2025. This programme builds on recommendations made in Albania in 2023 and aims to strengthen safeguarding standards across member federations.

Shriya Popat launched IMMAF’s new “Road to Recognition” scheme, urging members to participate in the application process to enhance their digital presence and meet recognition requirements. The scheme outlines steps that national federations can take to strengthen their applications and ensure a successful outcome.

In an effort to bolster coaching quality, Andrew Moshoanov discussed the importance of a structured coaches’ education and grading system, emphasising the need to build a strong base of skilled, certified coaches.

The assembly also featured discussion on revising the membership fee structure to accommodate the economic diversity of IMMAF’s global membership. Members proposed a model that would make membership more accessible across different regions, ensuring affordability while supporting IMMAF’s goals for worldwide expansion and inclusivity.
