Poland’s newest MMA sensation Magdalena Czaban extended her professional record to 2-0 in a powerful display of skill and composure at Invicta FC 58 in Kansas City on November 6. This marked Czaban’s USA debut, and she delivered a standout performance against fellow IMMAF alum, Jessica Hope Holmes.
Czaban turned professional in 2023 following a stellar amateur career that included an impressive 21-2 record, primarily competing on the IMMAF platform. Over her amateur tenure, “Atomówka” distinguished herself with wins against high-caliber opponents, including US Olympic wrestling alternate Victoria Anthony, Sweden’s Josephine Modig, and French up-and-comer Delphine Benouaich. As a multi-time IMMAF World and European champion, she represented Poland at both atomweight and strawweight from 2019 to 2022, establishing herself as one of the most accomplished fighters in IMMAF history.
Facing Holmes, a 2023 IMMAF Pan American champion with a reputation for striking prowess, Czaban showcased her professional evolution with a seamless blend of technique, power, and fight IQ. She traded punches with Holmes, established her distance and found success with her signature left hook, scoring takedowns, and grappling control. The decisive moment came in the second round when Czaban countered a takedown attempt by Holmes and locked in a standing power guillotine, forcing Holmes to tap.
