The Drawbacks of Nutrient and Energy Deficiencies

MMA is one of the most demanding sports out there. We know that, as an athlete, you need to stick to physically and mentally taxing routines. And sometimes, they might get a bit much, especially if you’re experiencing nutrient and energy deficiencies.

Your body needs micronutrients, not too little and not too much, in the right form and in the right proportions to each other. Otherwise, we face nutritional deficiencies, in three types:

Have you heard about relative energy deficiency in sport (RED-S)? RED-is a syndrome that affects athletes when the energy used through exercise (energy expenditure) is more than the energy brought in through food (energy intake).

When you train intensely and for long, without the appropriate energy, you force your body to tap into its reserves. This affects your performance, concentration and overall fitness. So, how do you nip the problem in the bud? By replenishing your cells with the right amounts of 78+ electrolytes and trace elements.

For example, muscles contract and relax in response to electrical impulses sent from nerve cells, which are highly dependent on electrolytes. Without the correct balance, your muscles don’t have the strength to work to their fullest and you’re more likely to get cramps.

We can’t wait to share our partner’s protocols with you. The more you exercise, the more you’ll benefit from their unique solutions. And if you’ve been recovering slowly lately, you won’t want to miss next week’s email.
