The 2024 IMMAF Pan American Championship is scheduled to kickstart in August in Mexico
The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) has announced the dates for the 2024 IMMAF Pan American Championship. The event will be held in Monterrey, Mexico, from August 31 to September 7, and will showcase some of the top amateur MMA talent from the region.
The upcoming championship follows the 2023 IMMAF Pan American Championship, which took place in Bogota, Colombia, as part of the 2023 BRAVE Pan American Combat Week. In the event, the United States team led the Senior category with eight gold medals, while Brazil and Mexico came in second and third, respectively. In the Junior category, Mexico topped the standings with six gold medals, followed by Colombia and Ecuador in second and third places.
Earlier this year, the Pan American Federation became the first continental federation to conduct elections for its presidency and board members. Mr. Ubaldo Marroquin from Mexico was elected president of the Confederación Panamericana de Artes Marciales Mixtas, the Pan American MMA Confederation. The upcoming championship in Monterrey will be the first major event for the newly elected team.
Additionally, the 2024 IMMAF Pan American Championship is one of three major IMMAF events in August. The 2024 IMMAF Youth World Championships will be held at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from August 5 to August 11. This will be followed by the 2024 IMMAF Asian Championships, which will take place in Lahore, Pakistan, from August 18 to August 22 right before the scheduled Pan American Championships. Further details about the 2024 IMMAF Pan American Championships will be published shortly with the opening of registration to national teams.
