The Asian Mixed Martial Arts Federation under IMMAF met to formalise its association at IMMAF’s 2022 Asian Championships in Tajikistan last Saturday 29 October.

STRATEGIC PLAN
IMMAF Members Services Director Gosha Malik opened the meeting with a presentation outlining the proposed strategic plan for the new AMMAF. As part of it, the organisation’s roles and responsibilities were described and the plan included the formation of technical working committees under AMMAF in line with good governance and Olympic values.
OFFICIAL SIGNING & PRESENTATION OF FOUNDERS CERTIFICATION
IMMAF President Kerrith Brown and Board Director for Asia, Wissam Abi Nader, signed and presented certification formally granting the Asia MMA Federation its rights as an organisation under IMMAF
The documentation states:
- the Asia MMA Federation is a collective organization affiliated to IMMAF, representative of the Asia region;
- that all members are entitled to the benefits of IMMAF resources and pathways in its ongoing mission;
- the aims of AMMAF is for its members to aid one another in the development of good governance, youth and competitive athletes, coaches, technical officials and recreational participants;
- that future members will be enrolled and welcomed to the AMMAF as an extension of IMMAF membership
- the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) expect the Asia MMA Federation to follow the IMMAF Code of Conduct, which defines the most important values and principles for behaviour and conduct within IMMAF, as well as with external parties;
- The AMMAF will observe the principles laid down within the IMMAF Code of Conduct and Statutes which serve to protect and improve the sport of mixed martial arts and to promote MMA globally in the light of its unifying, educational, cultural and humanitarian values, through youth and educational development programmes, and prevent any methods or practices which might jeopardise the integrity of events or competitions or give rise to abuse or corruption within the sport;
- the AMMAF will follow the WADA Code for clean sport and champion the leading example set forth through the IMMAF – WADA signatory status;
- IMMAF and AMMAF will continue to strive for International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognition, for mixed martial arts worldwide, while continuing the development of MMA by enabling international competition through the organization of national MMA federations around the world.
Certificates of appointment were presented to President Mohammad Qambar (Bahrain), first Vice-president Davron Juraev (Tajikistan) and to the Regional Directors of the AMMAF. Farrukh Halimov (TAJMMAF) was appointed as General Secretary.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Tajikistan Federation with MMA India and the Iranian MMA Federation.
