12 – 16 OCTOBER 2020
The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation’s third annual Technical Seminar Week kicks off tomorrow, Monday 12 October 2020. Due to international restrictions on gathering and travel, IMMAF is hosting its full programme live and on-demand for members only.
The first day includes a welcome talk from IMMAF President Kerrith Brown in which he is expected to summarise the achievements and challenges of 2020 and give an overview of IMMAF’s strategy and vision moving into 2021. This will be followed by an administrative update from the IMMAF CEO Densign White, and the opportunity for members to ask questions.
One of the highlights of the week is scheduled to follow with the “On Youth Development for 4 – 11 year olds” seminar led by IMMAF Director of Sport Development, Dr. Andrew Mosahov. The talk is set to include an overview presentation of IMMAF’s forthcoming “Lets Mix Martial Arts” programme for schools, which takes IMMAF’s progression pathway down into younger years development.
This is to be followed the Coaching Matters seminar, which will feature two topics and speakers: PHD researcher, Chris Kirk of Liverpool John Moore University (UK) will be talking about the impact of rapid weight loss on athletes, while IMMAF Australia President Richie Cranny will feed back on the recent national pilot of IMMAF Stand-Up & Groundwork Coach qualifications for MMA.
IMMAF members interested in attending any seminars, should contact their National Federation for information.
