Hungarian MMA Federation Secures National Sponsorship

Pictured above: Alexandra Kovacs wins gold for Hungary in the Women’s Flyweight division at the 2016 IMMAF European Open The Hungarian Mixed Martial Arts Federation (HMMAF) has today announced a new sponsorship cooperation together with one of the biggest and most influential groups on the Hungarian construction market, WHB – West Hungaria Bau Kft. WHB’s prime roll in the in the national construction sector has seen the successful company review multiple opportunities that have opened up in sport sponsorship during recent years. In 2014 WHB worked closely as one of the main sponsors for the International Judo Federation (IJF) and signed a sponsoring contract for the 2014 Grand Prix /World Judo Tour. WHB first kicked off its commitment to MMA sponsorship with support for the KOKO MMA Gym in the city of Györ, located in the same region as WHB headquarters. Mr Gabor Kokai (KOKO Gym head coach) decided to start new negations together with the HMMAF board, in order spread out the possibility of sponsorship over a national area instead of a singular region. In January, 2017, WHB confirmed cooperation with the national MMA Federation and first entered a significant starter package helping young athletes towards participation in the 2017 IMMAF European Open Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria, taking place from March 29 to April 2. One of the most important common goals from this fusion will be to achieve positive and improved results both in the participation numbers, as well as in the results. In order to reach a financial stability and build the safest possible foundation for the athletes, new negotiations will be started after the European Open to involve the WHB group as the main sponsor for national cups, giving increased possibilities for athletes to compete on the national level.]]>
