Picture: Di Chirico takes a unanimous decision victory at the UFC Fan Expo. 2014 IMMAF world light-heavyweight champion, Alessio Di Chirico, was yesterday announced by the UFC as the newest addition to the promotion’s middleweight division. Di Chirico is coached by Fabio Ciolli, Head Coach of the Italian National MMA Team of FIGMMA (Italian Grappling Mixed Martial Arts Federation) and of Hung Mun MMA Studio, the most decorated MMA Team in Italy. The 26-year-old made his debut in FIGMMA competition in 2011, winning the 90kg B Division at the Italian Championship of MMA, and made his debut in the A Division later that year, winning the Italian Cup 80kg weight category. Di Chirico made a first appearance for his country’s National Team in 2012 at the International MMA competition held by FILA, and maintained his place in the team through 2013, winning Silver at the European and World Championship of MMA of FILA. In 2014 he captained the Italian National Amateur Team at the first IMMAF World Championships of Amateur MMA. He won a Gold in the light-heavyweight final held at the UFC Fan Expo in Las Vegas.
