Two-time IMMAF gold medalist Jose Torres reveals decision to turn pro

Jose Torres, a two-time gold medal winner at the IMMAF World Championships of Amateur MMA, has revealed plans for a professional career. Torres, 23, announced that he is set to fly out to Bahrain on Monday to potentially complete a deal for professional management, as well as train and feature in a press conference. The bantamweight standout explained that he will receive financial backing as he prepares to make his pro debut under the banner of Asia’s leading Mixed Martial Arts promotion, One FC. The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) shared Torres’ statement on Facebook earlier today. Torres tweet Fighting out of Cicero, Illinois, Torres has a clean sweep of victories while representing Team USA at the IMMAF World Championships. As a double gold medal winner ‘Shorty’ claimed his first dose of IMMAF gold in 2014 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, before returning this past July to yet again win the four day single elimination tournament at the 2015 championships, with the finals contested live at the UFC Fan Expo.
