Fight Network to broadcast first MMA World Championships

The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) has secured a deal with Fight Network in Canada, Europe, North and sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East and Turkey to broadcast highlights of its first-ever Mixed Martial Arts World Championships, which took place during the summer in Las Vegas, USA. The deal was brokered by sport marketing agency Broadreach Media, which signed a 3-year deal as IMMAF’s exclusive media partner earlier this year. IMMAF is the international governing body for the sport of mixed martial arts. During the inaugural IMMAF World Championships over 100 amateur athletes from 22 countries competed in a five day tournament at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. The finals were held inside the UFC International Fan Expo at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in front of MMA fans from around the world. Owned by Anthem Media Group, Fight Network is a Canada-based English-language channel devoted to airing programming related to mixed martial arts, boxing, kickboxing, wrestling and other combatant styles. Along with live combat events, Fight Network airs fight-themed movies, documentaries, television series, news and fitness-related shows. “We are delighted to secure this deal to increase even further the IMMAF World Championships’ exposure throughout the world” says IMMAF Secretary General Erika Mattsson. “Fight Network has viewers who already love combat sports and we are happy for the opportunity to introduce them to top level amateur MMA.” “The massive international popularity of mixed martial arts has spawned world-class professional organizations all over the world, but this landmark event from the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation has brought together the world’s top amateur prospects,” said Ariel Shnerer, Director of Programming & Communications at Anthem Media Group Inc., the parent company of Fight Network. “Fittingly staged in Las Vegas, the fight capital of the world, the 2014 IMMAF World Championships showcases the new breed of athletes in a constantly evolving sport, and we’re excited to give these future stars a platform on Fight Network.” For further information please contact Steven Morris at Broadreach Media,
