Carwyn Jones is currently Professor of Sports Ethics at Cardiff Metropolitan University in Cardiff. He has also worked at the University of Teesside and the University of Gloucestershire. He has published widely on several aspects of sports ethics including the role of sport in moral development, national eligibility rules, fairness and doping and classification in the Paralympics. More recently he has explored the relationship between sport, alcohol, gambling and mental health and authored the book Sport and Alcohol: and ethical perspective. He is a former president of the International Association for the Philosophy of Sport and a founding member of the British Philosophy of Sport Association. Carwyn is a Welsh speaker and led the development of Welsh medium higher education in sport related subjects in Wales. He is a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist (BACP -British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy registered), coaches U9s football and enjoys outdoor sports.
