The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) is pleased to welcome Federación Colombiana de Artes Marciales Mixtas (FEDEAMM) as its new national member, representing Colombia.
Committed to unifying the Colombian MMA landscape, FEDEAMM supports clubs in integrating into the National Sports System. The organisation is led by President Jaime Arturo Peña Vanegas, an MMA practitioner and former amateur competitor.
Based in the nation’s capital of Bogotá, FEDEAMM is a democratic foundation dedicated to nurturing amateur development and facilitating professional career pathways for respective amateur and new professional talents. The organisation is built upon 16 years of grassroots development and operates through a circuit of regional amateur leagues, comprising of local clubs across the country and an independent Technical & Referees Committee.
The Colombian national team is expected to feature on the IMMAF Championships platform soon, with a pre-established selection process and regulatory framework designed to promote physical and technical development, alongside adherence to anti-doping policies and principles of sportsmanship.
FEDEAMM is committed to standardising the national development structures for mixed martial arts while continuing to build upon existing martial arts community partnerships. Speaking on the organisation’s admission to IMMAF, FEDEAMM President Jaime Arturo Peña Vanegas said:
