IMMAF President Kerrith Brown had a productive conversation with Otabek Umarov, a key figure in the rise of combat sports in Central Asia, as preparations ramp up for the 2024 IMMAF World Championships.
Umarov, who serves as Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), President of the Central Asian MMA Confederation, and Deputy Head of the State Security Service of the President of Uzbekistan, has been a driving force behind MMA’s growth in the region.
The conversation focused on the upcoming IMMAF World Championships, set to take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, this November. The event promises to be one of the biggest showcases of amateur mixed martial arts in IMMAF history, with the level of talent reaching an all time high.
Kerrith Brown stated: “We discussed many things , especially the future of MMA in Uzbekistan as the country readies to host the 2024 IMMAF World Championships in November. The IMMAF is looking forward to a successful tournament in Tashkent!”
IMMAF remains committed to its collaboration with Umarov and the Central Asian MMA Confederation, aiming to further develop amateur MMA in Uzbekistan and beyond.
As the 2024 World Championships approach, more discussions are expected to solidify future initiatives and expand MMA’s presence on a global scale.
