The International Testing Agency (ITA), official anti-doping partner of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF), the is set to hold a February webinar dedicated to “A coach’s role in clean sport” with athletes, coaches, and other support personnel all invited to sign up.
IMMAF and the ITA started an official partnership on January 1st, 2024, with the ITA aiming to provide IMMAF with a high-quality anti-doping program, which includes independent results management for any potential anti-doping rule violations that may arise.
Coaches and other Athlete Support Personnel play a crucial role in promoting clean sport, leveraging their close and trusted relationships with athletes to impart essential knowledge and guidance. Serving as mentors, they provide invaluable insights into anti-doping regulations, instilling ethical values and behaviours that uphold the integrity of sport.
Claire Lane, UKAD Clean Sport Education Officer, and Benjamin Maier, Olympian in bobsleigh and coach for the Austrian team at Gangwon 2024, will both be in attendance to provide practical tips and share their experiences on how coaches can take an active role in clean sport. There will also be an opportunity for those in attendance to ask any questions they might have at the end of the session.
The webinar will be delivered in English with simultaneous translation to four additional languages – Arabic (العربية), Spanish (español), French (français) and Russian (русский).
