2014 IMMAF world flyweight gold medallist Amanda Ribas will attend the 2023 IMMAF Pan American Championships which take place from 8 – 12 August in Bogota, Colombia as part of the BRAVE CF Pan American Combat Week.
Ribas is currently ranked at No.11 in both the UFC strawweight and flyweight divisions. She boasts an 11-4 professional record, with wins over the likes of Mackenzie Dern, Viviane Araujo and Paige VanZant.
Having claimed gold at the 2014 IMMAF World Championships in a run where she reigned victorious over current Cage Warriors strawweight contender, Micol di Segni, Brazil’s Ribas will now be supporting the next generation of Pan American mixed martial artists.
As she prepared to make the journey to Colombia, Ribas issued the following message:
“I’m travelling to go to the IMMAF Pan American Championships which will be in Bogota. I’m really excited because I did the IMMAF Worlds in 2014, and after that event, my career went [to] the top. So, I’m really excited to be here, and I hope you guys that are competing enjoy [every] little detail, every day, every opportunity that IMMAF give to you.”
Whilst many of the competitors at the 2023 IMMAF Pan American Championships will be making their IMMAF debuts, there are several returning figures that MMA fans will no doubt recognise.
Of particular note is Ribas’ countrywoman, Giulliany Perea, who won silver at the 2022 IMMAF World Championships, and is set to compete in the women’s Strawweight division.
The IMMAF Pan American Championships have consistently offered a platform for Pan American talent to build their skills on the amateur scene, resulting in numerous high-level professional fighters such as Axel Sola and Ismael Zamora.
Day 1 of the 2023 IMMAF Pan American Championships takes place on Thursday 10th August. There will be brackets in Junior and Senior divisions.
The semi-finals will occur on Friday 11th August, with the Junior and Senior finals taking place on Sunday, August 12th. Streaming passes to watch the live finale can be purchased on https://IMMAF.tv.
