The opening day will see fourteen bouts take place across two cages, with bouts ranging from the strawweight to middleweight division. Nine of the participating nations will have an athlete competing on Day 1.

Iran has three athletes taking part on Day 1 as the nation debuts on the IMMAF platform. Bahrain’s Magomd Isaev will be looking to get the nation winning ways when he takes on Kazakhstan’s Zhaxybek Aimakhanov. Both of them competed at the MMA SuperCup but didn’t cross paths. Isaev took home a gold medal after winning his sole bout in the final, while Aimakhanov won a bronze medal.

Tajikistan has five of its squad vying to progress to the next round. Iso Mukhtorov will make his first IMMAF appearance against Kazakhstan’s Danil Gubin, who has risen through the IMMAF ranks, having won a medal at the Youth World Championships in 2019 before winning Junior European gold in 2021.

India’s Ramston Rodriques is back for his second IMMAF competition after mixed results at the 2021 World Championships. He will face Lebanon’s Ghady Assaf in a middleweight contest.
