The IMMAF Member for the USA, UMMAF, provisionally suspended as an IMMAF Member pending a final decision by the IMMAF Membership at the next General Assembly in November 2021.
Until then, IMMAF is determined to ensure that US athletes are not penalised and is setting up a special task force whose sole duty will be to manage the process of selection of suitably qualified US participants at upcoming IMMAF events in 2021.
In the interests of the athletes, representatives of the suspended federation UMMAF will be asked to submit entries for IMMAF Youth World Championships and IMMAF World Championships (Senior and Junior) by the usual channels at the IMMAF Events Department.
For the Youth World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria, entries are already open.
For the World Championships (Senior and Junior) in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, entries will be accepted from 7 August until 2 September for athletes who have:
- Provided all medical history and requirements.
- Paid their registration fees; (TBC but will range between $600 and $900)
After the deadline of 2 September for the World Championships, the IMMAF Task Force will assess and either approve or reject applications. The IMMAF Task Force reserves the right to accept additional US athletes as part of a World Championships’ team until 2 October 2021.
