Jose Torres snatched victory last night in his professional MMA debut at Titan FC 37 in Washington, USA. Having brought an end to his 25-1 amateur career, Team USA alumnus “Shorty” took on a significantly taller opponent in the form of fellow amateur veteran Travis Taylor. Taking zero damage in the process, the Illinois native wasted little time in securing a fierce standing guillotine against the fence that saw Taylor slump to the ground immediately after submitting to the choke. The submission finish was very reminiscent of the technique used to submit Nurtilek Konashov in the bantamweight finals of the 2015 IMMAF World Amateur Championships in Las Vegas.
