Jose Torres makes his professional MMA debut this weekend under the banner on standout American promotion Titan FC. With a 25-1 record the Illinois native claimed gold medals at both the 2014 & 2015 IMMAF World Amateur Championships in Las Vegas. Fighting out of Combat Do in Cicero, Illinois, and KHK MMA in Bahrain, Torres will take on fellow amateur veteran and pro debutant Travis Taylor with the entire Titan FC 37 card featuring live on UFC Fight Pass. In January Torres spoke with IMMAF.org after teaming up with Lou Giordano of LouTrition in a bid to eliminate the need for weight cutting. Ahead of the Titan FC 37 weigh-ins which took place earlier today, the 23-year-old told IMMAF.org how he felt better and more comfortable than ever before prior to weighing in which allowed him to remain 100% focussed on the fast approaching bout. “Making weight was always a hassle and first on my mind, then fighting. This way, I now get to focus on the fight and just eat properly; 5-6 meals a day with however much water I want. It’s been a great learning experience.”
