IMMAF Meets with Fight For Peace

IMMAF President Kerrith Brown and CEO Densign White visited the East London home of youth charity, Fight For Peace. The introduction was made by Danny Corr, Chairman of the Ulster Amateur MMA Association, with whom the charity has partnered in Northern Ireland to establish government endorsed youth programmes, including the recently publicised youth summer camp. Danny Corr and colleague, Austin Tanney, flew over from Ireland for the meeting. Fight for Peace combines boxing and martial arts with education and personal development to realise the potential of young people in communities affected by crime, violence and social exclusion in various parts of the world. Via its global training programme, Fight For Peace works to equip partner organisations around the globe with the knowledge and resources to better support young people through an integrated and holistic “Five Pillars” methodology. The purpose of the meeting with FFP Global Alumni Programme Manager, James Baderman, and team was explore common ground and ways in which the organisations might potentially be able to support each other. UKMMAF representatives, Mark Day (chairman), Windy Miller (new Coaching Committee appointee) and Nigel Burgess (board member) were also in attendance to discuss potential national level opportunities.
