MASMMAA states: “The sport of MMA can be very taxing on the physical health of the MMA athletes and injuries are a common occurence. The workshop seeks to impart and substantiate medical care and knowledge to ensure MMA athletes are well aware of all aspects in their chosen sport.” The speakers at the “Medical Health for MMA” event will cover MMA medical fundamentals including understanding common MMA injuries, how to prevent these injuries from occurring and the types of non-invasive medical treatment available. MASMMAA urges athletes and trainers to attend this workshop as the first of its kind in Malaysia.Admission is free, but there will be limited seating. About the Presenters Syarulnizam Raziff is a medical officer who has vast experience in traumatic injuries, medical care and treatment having worked with multiple international and local MMA promotions. He has conducted various workshops involving his specialty in both corporate and government sectors. He is presently with X-Medic Emergency Care provider. His qualifications include certification from ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and MTLS (Malaysia Trauma Life Support), as well as a Level 1 qualification as a sports trainer with Institut Sukan Negara. Dr Ivan Sin is a certified chiropractor from International Medical University and is practices with a reputable chiropractic clinic based in Bangsar.
