The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation continues to strengthen its commitment to anti doping education and awareness, reinforcing the principles and values that underpin CLEAN MMA.
As part of this commitment, anti doping education seminars are now mandatory for all athletes participating in IMMAF International Championships. Delivered by the International Testing Agency, these sessions are attended by both athletes and coaches and form an core component of Championship participation.
Recent education initiatives demonstrate strong engagement across the global IMMAF community. Over the past months, more than 3,000 interactions have been recorded through the ITA education toolkit, while over 1,200 participants have successfully completed certification courses. The ITA has supported this process with dedicated staff and specialist resources to ensure consistent, high quality delivery and to effectively manage large numbers of participants at international events.
IMMAF became a member of the World Anti Doping Agency on 23 December 2023, further aligning the federation with international best practice in clean sport governance. Anti-doping procedures were first introduced within IMMAF in 2015, supported by a comprehensive testing system and a long-standing education programme.
A wide range of anti-doping information and resources are now publicly available on the IMMAF website, including education materials, Therapeutic Use Exemption guidance, results management information, and updates to the Prohibited List.
The International Testing Agency manages IMMAF’s full anti-doping testing programme, covering both in-competition and out-of-competition testing. ITA education initiatives will continue throughout the year, supporting all upcoming continental championships and the IMMAF World Championships as part of IMMAF’s ongoing commitment to athlete welfare and fair competition.
