Level 2 Coaching Course Strengthens Standards in Morocco

Hasan Khan

IMMAF’s commitment to raising global coaching standards continued in Morocco as Andrew Moshanov, IMMAF Director of Sports Development, delivered a Level 2 Coaching Course alongside former IMMAF World Champion José ‘Ze’ Machado.

Following the federation’s Level 1 course two years ago, this advanced certification focused on the practical realities of preparing athletes for championship competition. The curriculum centred on individual athlete development, with detailed work on periodization, peaking and conditioning for the key event of the year.

Moshanov also placed strong emphasis on the tactical demands of IMMAF’s tournament format.

“We spoke about individual development of athletes, covered periodization, peaking and conditioning for the main event of the year. We also went deep into single-fight tactics and five-day championship strategies.”

Machado’s contribution brought elite athlete insight into the classroom, demonstrating how high-level competitors tailor technical solutions to opponents while remaining disciplined within a clear game plan.

“Helping deliver the course in Morocco was a great experience. Contributing to the technical standards as an IMMAF medal-winning athlete was an honour and I thank Andrew Moshanov for the invitation. The strong engagement reflects the positive direction IMMAF is taking.”

The strong engagement from Moroccan coaches reflected a federation intent on aligning with IMMAF’s evolving coaching framework and improving athlete preparation for international competition.

Progressing from Level 1 to Level 2 certification marks another step forward for MMA development in Morocco and reinforces IMMAF’s ongoing investment in coach education worldwide.
