Brannfors Evolves, Ibrovic Shocks, and O’Sullivan Dominates as Stage is Set for Junior Finals | 2025 IMMAF European Championships

By Hasan Khan

As the 2025 IMMAF European Championships near their climax, the cage becomes a proving ground where champions evolve, legacies rewritten, and rising contenders carve their place in history. The stakes have never been higher, and the battles never fiercer.

Finland’s Sani Brannfors delivered a performance that defied expectation, abandoning her usual grappling-heavy approach for a striking spectacle that stunned the crowd. She wove together blistering head kicks and precise punches, leaving her Slovenian opponent defenseless. When the second round began, Brannfors baited her into overcommitting, seized control with a swift takedown, and transitioned fluidly from a headlock position into a crushing guillotine. A performance as ferocious as it was refined, she storms into the final with newfound versatility.

Austria’s Elias Erber showcased relentless control, forcing his opponent into the fence before executing a seamless clinch-to-mount transition. Once in position, his grip was suffocating, his patience measured. He methodically worked his way to his signature rear naked choke, sealing victory with the calculated precision of a fighter who knows his path to gold is within reach.

In the Super Lightweight division, Serbia’s Aladin Ibrovic upended the reign of Jordan Scully, stripping the Irishman of his European title in impressive fashion. Every kick, every shot was a calculated breakdown of the now former champion’s defenses. When the moment arrived, Ibrovic owned the space, imposed his grappling, and forced the tap, a dominant display that signaled a shift in the division’s hierarchy.

Ireland’s Kiya O’Sullivan fought with cold precision, setting traps and dictating every exchange. She disrupted rhythm with crisp jabs, smashed through defenses with a hat-trick of head kicks, and closed the show with an unrelenting final assault, forcing the TKO stoppage, securing her place in the final.

France’s Alan Landouzy and Demba Ndao both left their mark. Landouzy weaving his opponent into an inescapable Anaconda choke, while Ndao overwhelmed his Italian adversary with a relentless pace before closing with a decisive TKO.

With the Junior Finals approaching, Mariia Klein eyes her 31st TKO, while Belgium’s internal showdown promises fireworks. As the tournament reaches its apex, the echoes of battle will be felt long after the final bell.
