The Mixed Martial Arts Sports Association (MMASA) has been officially recognized as the sole International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) member in Thailand. This designation will see MMASA serve as the gateway for Thai athletes, gyms, and organizers to join the international MMA community.
MMASA was formed following the historic registration of Mixed Martial Arts as an officially recognized sport in Thailand in June 2024. Its establishment marks a new era for MMA in the country, providing a structured framework to support the sport’s regulation, growth, and development.
The primary mission of MMASA is to ensure the sustainable growth of MMA in Thailand. The association is committed to developing local talent, enhancing safety standards, and creating opportunities for Thai fighters to compete on the world stage. With a focus on regulation, training, and competition, MMASA aims to position Thailand as a leading player in the global MMA scene.
Nick Chapman, Vice Chairman of Operations and International Affairs for MMASA, brings a wealth of expertise to this initiative. A former MMA champion and respected figure in combat sports, Chapman has dedicated himself to the growth of MMA in Thailand. His extensive experience as a fighter, promoter, and referee has equipped him to lead this transformative effort.
Chapman shared his vision for the partnership:
“As Vice Chairman of Operations and International Affairs for MMASA, I am proud to collaborate with IMMAF to elevate the standards of MMA in Thailand. Together, we are building a unified platform that not only nurtures world-class talent but also upholds the integrity and growth of the sport. This partnership marks a significant step forward in developing the next generation of MMA fighters while showcasing Thailand’s rich martial arts heritage on the global stage.
With the support of IMMAF, MMASA is set to redefine the landscape of MMA in Thailand, creating pathways for athletes to excel while promoting the nation’s martial arts traditions worldwide.
