On November 1, 2024, the Africa MMA Confederation (AMMAC) held its first elective Annual General Meeting (AGM) in an online session, attended by IMMAF President Kerrith Brown, CEO Densign White, and Africa Director Raymonde Phillips. This landmark event resulted in the election of AMMAC’s first official president, vice presidents, and board of directors, marking a significant step in the development of MMA on the African continent.
The AGM was conducted under the oversight of an interim executive board, composed of representatives from AMMAC, IMMAF, and an IMMAF nominations committee. This committee sanctioned the election of the AMMAC president, board members, and the appointment of a general secretary.
The newly elected officials represent key regions across Africa, bringing together a team of highly experienced individuals recognized for their dedication to the sport’s development in Africa. Ramtohul Avinash of Mauritius, who served as interim president, was elected as the first president of AMMAC, with a four-year term ahead.

In his acceptance speech, President Ramtohul Avinash expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him by the AMMAC community:
