As the 2024 IMMAF World Championships rapidly approach, excitement is mounting for amateur MMA’s premier annual event. With national team rosters now set, Team Tajikistan once again stands out as a formidable force poised to make a significant impact on the global stage.
At the 2023 IMMAF World Championships, Tajikistan achieved unparalleled success, emerging as the top senior team and securing 10 medals, including four gold. This year’s roster blends experienced IMMAF medalists with promising new talents, establishing Tajikistan as a major contender. With over 40 athletes ready to compete, the team is well-positioned to build on its recent achievements and further its legacy on the international platform.
Several star athletes are returning to represent their nation and defend their World Championship titles. Among them, Qosim Sardorov stands as one of the team’s most formidable talents, having won middleweight gold at both the 2023 IMMAF World Championships and the 2024 IMMAF Asian Championships. Now competing at flyweight, Zohidzoda is aiming for the rare feat of winning IMMAF gold in two weight classes.
Team Tajikistan’s mix of seasoned veterans is complemented by emerging talent, ready to leave a mark at their first IMMAF World Championships. Among them, 2023 IMMAF Youth World Champion Saiali Kamolov stands out. Having transitioned to the Junior ranks earlier this year, Kamolov secured gold at the IMMAF Asian Championships and now seeks to cap off his impressive year by claiming the title of IMMAF Junior World Champion.
