On October 5, the MMA Polska Association hosted its 11th National MMA Championships in Gliwice, attracting over 760 amateur athletes from across Poland.
The event featured five cages with junior, senior, and cadet categories. A total of 763 competitors registered for the tournament, including 66 female competitors. The cadet categories (ages 12-18) saw 337 participants, while 176 juniors (ages 18-21) and 250 seniors (ages 21+) also signed up. The oldest competitor in the tournament was a remarkable 47 years old.
After final verifications related to weight, medical tests, and required documentation, 660 competitors representing 155 clubs were cleared to compete. Across the day of competition, 608 bouts took place in five cages. This event marked the sixth consecutive tournament with over 500 fighters and set a new participation record for the MMA Polska Association.
Full results for all categories are available on the MMA Polska Association’s website. Matches from all five cages can be viewed on the MMA Poland YouTube channel, and the finals of selected categories will be broadcast on the Sports Channel. Additionally, replays will be available on the TVP Sport website.
This is the fourth time the MMA Polska Association has brought its event to Gliwice, with participation numbers steadily increasing each year. In October 2021, the tournament saw around 150 participants in Gliwice; a year later, that number rose to over 400, and by 2023, more than 730 young fighters competed. The 2024 edition has now surpassed these records.
Established in 2019, the MMA Polska Association aims to create a professional and supportive environment for amateur MMA. Its goals include promoting a positive image of MMA, organizing national competitions, and selecting athletes for international tournaments, with a long-term objective of introducing MMA as an Olympic sport. The Association is a regular member of the Polish Olympic Committee and operates as a public benefit organization.
