In the first week of October, two former IMMAF Champions made waves with statement victories, continuing their ascent in the professional MMA scene.
At Octagon 64, two-time IMMAF World Champion Yersultan Shakenbay delivered an impressive pro debut. The Kazakh flyweight squared off against Dastan Kanybek Uulu in a fiercely contested flyweight bout that opened the event. Both fighters engaged in a high-intensity back-and-forth, with momentum constantly shifting. Despite the relentless pressure from his Kyrgyz opponent, Shakenbay secured the victory via judges’ decision, solidifying his status as a top Asian prospect in the pro ranks.
On the same card, fellow IMMAF alumnus Azizbek Temirov (Uzbekistan) extended his unbeaten streak to 5-0 with a dominant first-round KO/TKO victory over Sherzod Ibodiloev.
At AEF 9, former IMMAF European Champion Movsar Ibragimov continued his winning streak in the co-main event against Kacper Matyszewski. The Belgian bantamweight finished his opponent in the opening round, bringing his professional record to 3-0. Having turned pro in early 2024, Ibragimov’s strength of schedule has been relentless, with an AEF title shot likely on the cards in the near future.
Poland’s Michał Borowski notched his fourth professional win, becoming the first fighter to hand Bogdan Danilko a loss. The 2022 IMMAF World Silver Medalist defeated Danilko by unanimous decision at FEN 56.
Finally, two Colombian IMMAF alumni, AlisonVargas and AlejandroSabogal, both secured debut victories at FFC 82.
