Ahead of the upcoming 2023 IMMAF World Championships, the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) is set to collaborate with the Sports University of Tirana and the Albanian Federation of Mixed Martial Arts, offering a unique opportunity to the students of the 2023 European City of Sport.
IMMAF will provide a rare chance for students specialising in Sports Administration/Management to put their skills into practical application during the 2023 World Championships. This opportunity will enable them to gain valuable shadowing experience while actively participating in the event’s operations.
A select group of students from the Sports University of Tirana will take on volunteer and assistant roles, supporting the IMMAF Events Team in organising the biggest amateur MMA tournament of the year. The cohort of undergraduates will acquire insights into the day-to-day administration and operations of an international governing body.
This experience will significantly benefit the students by enhancing their skills and opening doors to future opportunities in fields such as Sports Journalism, Sports Photography, and more, as they continue their educational and professional journeys. Additionally, there is the potential for future joint collaborations as IMMAF continues to expand its presence across Europe.
IMMAF President Kerrith Brown stated: “Cooperation with the University of Sport of Tirana represents a crucial step in our mission to support and nurture the next generation of sports professionals. This partnership is a testament to our commitment to offering students a unique, hands-on experience in the world of international sports administration. We’re excited to see the impact this collaboration will have on the future of sports management and our continued growth in Europe.”
The 2023 IMMAF World Championships Volunteers program will be overseen by Holtjon Orhani, a distinguished senior staff member at the Sports University of Tirana. The event is scheduled to take place at the Tirana Olympic Park venue from November 20 to 25, with tournament registration set for November 19.
