Guilherme Bravo, a key figure in the regulatory side of mixed martial arts, joins IMMAF’s team of senior regulatory officials.
With a career spanning over a decade, Bravo boasts an impressive portfolio, having contributed significantly to the world’s foremost professional MMA organization, the UFC. Furthermore, he has played a pivotal role in training referees and judges for both CBMMA and CBMMA, as well as authoring the ground-breaking publication ‘In The Hands Of The Judges,’ the first book to ‘interpret and expound upon the rules of MMA.’
Given this, the invaluable wealth of experience and expertise that Bravo can bring to IMMAF is self-evident. However, Bravo has also stated that he believes this will be a mutually beneficial relationship, stating that:
“I truly believe the IMMAF has a great future because it is going to bring sport and sports education all over the world. That has never been done before.”
Bravo has expressed how he is looking forward to working alongside the pre-existing IMMA committee, as they seek to continue efforts to progress the prospect of MMA attaining formal recognition as a legitimate Olympic sport. He stated:
“I believe that the existing committee with members from different countries having a huge experience in Olympic sports such as Judo can add a lot in the regulatory set-up.”
Guilherme Bravo’s immediate role with IMMAF will focus on aiding in the expansion of “sport education by creating and updating courses and teaching new judges and referees.”
