The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF), in partnership with BRAVE CF, the Colombian Association of Mixed Martial Arts (OCAMM), and in co-promotion with Latin Fighter Championship (LFC) are pleased to announce the 2023 Pan American Championships will take place between 8 – 12 August in Bogota, Colombia as part of the BRAVE CF Pan American Combat Week. The week is expected to be the biggest combat sports festival in the region’s history.
The 2023 Pan American Championships will see the best amateur athletes from North, Central, and South America all competing for continental gold. The BRAVE CF Pan American Combat Week will conclude with BRAVE Colombia, where some of the top professional athletes from Colombia and around the world showcased under the BRAVE CF banner.
BRAVE Colombia will be the promotion’s third show in the nation, following BRAVE CF 15 (Bucaramanga, 2018) and BRAVE CF 26 (Bogota, 2019).
IMMAF President Kerrith Brown said:
“We are delighted to be working with BRAVE CF to bring the 2023 Pan American Championships to Colombia. The Colombian Mixed Martial Arts Federation (OCAMM) and BRAVE CF have both been doing fantastic work in promoting and developing MMA in the country, and we are excited to see the sport continue to grow in the region. This event will provide a great platform for the top amateur athletes from across the continent to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level.”
Last year’s Pan American Championships saw Mexico top the medal table, closely followed by the United States, with many top amateurs, such as Anthony Orozco and Jonathan Powell, emerging from the competition.
Colombia enjoyed a promising run in the competition in 2022, finishing with six medals overall. Mateo Lara, Nicolas Rodriguez and Laura Oquendo were among the athletes to earn a spot on the podium and may feature again at this year’s edition of the event.
