On March 30, The Israeli Mixed Martial Arts Federation held its national championships at the Maccabim arena in Petah Tikva. Over five hundred people attended the finals of the national championships to witness the next generation of athletes coming out of Israel.
The youth national championships were held the following day, with the list of medalists for the event to follow.
On the IMMAF circuit, Israel has been making waves with Yevgeni Shinkarevsky, Moshe Aladi and Shaked Nisiman, all reaching the podium at IMMAF events. Competing in the junior lightweight division, Nisiman became the first athlete from the nation to secure a world gold medal at the most recent set of World Championships.
Shaked Nisiman was not in action at the federation’s national championships. However, featherweight standout Moshe Aladi cemented his spot on the national team by submitting Omer Gadot in the final bout of the evening.
Following his win, he made his intentions for the year clear, with his eyes firmly set on European gold in September.
“This win means a lot to me. After the worlds, I came home full of motivation to develop myself and get ready for another win streak. I’m ready for the next mission – claiming the IMMAF gold medal at the European Championships in September.”
History was made at the event as the first-ever adult women’s bout took place in the co-main event, where Lior Harush was crowned national champion following a split decision victory of 2022 World Championships national team member Rony Nisiman.
