From 28-29 October, the Bulgarian MMA Federation (BULMMAF) held its National Championships for all age categories.
During the official opening ceremony, president Stanislav Nedkov awarded the Bulgarian medalists from the 2022 Youth World Championships and 2022 European Championships with plaques and monetary prizes. Athlete’s coaches were also awarded.
Following the national championships, a medal ceremony was held. Athletes were awarded their medals, and BULMMAF cups were given to the best teams in each age group and the top three clubs from the competition.
During the medal ceremony, Svetoslav Ivanov was recognised as the best youth athlete, while Radomir Stoyanov was the best 18+ years old athlete.

Reflecting on the event, federation president Stanislav Nedkov said:
“Every event organised by our big sports family, BULMMAF, gives me extremely pleasant emotions. However, this National Championship was held in my hometown – Veliko Tarnovo and in the hall, where on April 8, 2006, I made my professional debut in MMA, which gave me an additional emotional charge.”

Svetoslav Ivanov (Youth A 65.8 kg silver) – Awarded with Olympic Hope
Stefani Petrova (Youth A 47.6 kg bronze) Awarded with Candidate Master of Sports
Bozhidar Ivanov (Senior Welterweight bronze) – Awarded the title Master of Sports
Tea Aresu (Junior Flyweight bronze) – Awarded for Developing the female MMA in Bulgaria
Plamen Dimitrov (Junior Bantamweight bronze) – Awarded with Master of Sports
Svetoslav Zhelev (National youth team head coach) – Awarded Coach of 2022
Maria Koleva (National Youth team coach) – Awarded for Helping with the development of Youths MMA in Bulgaria
Ivaylo Georgiev (National Senior/Junior team coach) – Awarded for helping with the development of MMA
Krasimir Aladzhov (Coach of Tea Aresu) – Awarded for helping with the development of MMA
