Firstly, I would like to thank IMMAF’s membership for its impressive work in a year which has been extraordinarily difficult and challenging for many. At IMMAF, we’re proud of the determination you have shown, your will power and resourcefulness in keeping your national members engaged, active and focused. The national federations form the backbone of IMMAF and without your support and belief in the strategic direction and projects of the international federation, our work would be much more difficult.
Many of our federations have continued to establish important relationships at a national level with their governments and Olympic committees, who have in turn given their support to IMMAF in our plight for international recognition within the Olympic family. We are optimistic that there will be positive developments in the coming months.
We look forward, too, to being reunited with you all in the new year, with a full calendar of events planned for the latter half of 2021 and preparations already underway. It will be challenging to execute, in the current climate, but we have every confidence in our power to achieve all our goals when the whole MMA community is moving in the same direction.
We can also look forward to meeting you all virtually, before then, as we will be calling an Extraordinary General Meeting in early 2021 regarding proposed changes to the statutes, with respect to raising the standards for good governance within IMMAF. Members can expect to receive a formal notification about this meeting before the year ends.
In conclusion, I would like to thank you, our members, again for your sterling work and congratulate those of you recognised in the 2020 IMMAF Amateur MMA Awards. Thank you also to all who participated in and supported our Technical Seminar Week. Finally, I would like to wish all our members a Merry Christmas and a happy, successful and safe New Year.
