The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation has announced its provisional Championships schedule for 2021, dependent on the global landscape with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic and with some details yet to be finalised.
The first event of the year is set to be the Asian Open Championships in Kazakhstan from the 27 June to 4 July with a total of 7 events planned for the second half of the year. IMMAF will additionally be returning to Bahrain in January 2022 for its rescheduled, inaugural World Teams Championships.
IMMAF President Kerrith Brown said:
“We are determined to reinvigorate international amateur MMA competition in 2021 by returning with a full calendar and providing opportunities to IMMAF athletes across all continents. We understand that national federations and teams need time to prepare, and moreover the return of competition to look forward to, and so as the year draws to a close, we are pleased to share positive news of events to get excited about for 2021. The Events Team is working hard to finalise outstanding details.”
