IMMAF World Championships veteran Darya Nyrkova has been named “Person of the Year” in her home city of Kiselevsk, Russia, for physical culture achievements.
Nyrkova represented the Russian national team at the 2019 IMMAF World Championships. She was eliminated at the quarter-final stage after going the distance in a grueling bout against no.1 ranked atomweight, Ayan Tursyn of Kazakhstan.
In 2019 the 28-year-old champion of multiple martial arts was among the first women to ever compete at the Russian MMA Union’s National Amateur Championships where she captured the atomweight title with a trio of wins over national rivals.
