The comprehensive course is aimed at providing MMA Coaches with a structured processes and principles of ethical MMA coaching. The course offers coaches and potential coaches the tools to acquire a working knowledge of all aspects of becoming a recognised MMA coach and teach to a uniform, certified structure as required by government bodies and insurance providers.
This major development means that MMA coaches in the region will now have access to recognised academic institution that provides nationally recognised certification. The qualification not only ensures a robust level of training for delegates, including aspects such as Safeguarding and MMA-specific First Aid, but also provides each candidate with the support and structure for its implementation in their clubs and coaching.
IMMAF Director of Development Andrew Moshanovsaid:
“ There are nations where the sport of MMA is recognised and regulated by government sports authorities. However most of these are Eastern European countries, where sport has historically been regulated by the state. The establishment of this course is a remarkable achievement on the coach education front by IMMAF’s National Federation in Northern Ireland, as this is the first ever time that the sport of MMA has been on the radar of its national educational authority and within the national qualification framework in the UK.”
