Huge Jose Torres Mural Painted in Chicago

mural 1By IMMAF.org lead writer, Jorden Curran Former IMMAF world amateur champion Jose Torres has been immortalized in a huge 20-30 foot mural, covering a two story building in Chicago. Artist @mission.dtek9, Torres’ brother, completed the work over a period of days, replicating the image of ‘Shorty’ holding both his Titan FC flyweight and bantamweight world titles. Torres (professional record 5-0) joined Titan FC upon closing out his amateur MMA career at 25-1, winning back-to-back IMMAF World Championships in 2014 and 2015 in addition to multiple UMMAF National Championships and countless regional titles. In August 2016 the 25-year-old won his first professional world title in just his third pro bout, defeating Abdiel Velazquez via knockout. Following a swift title defense besting Pedro Nobre via TKO in the opening round, Torres stepped up to bantamweight to become the ‘Champ Champ’, earning a unanimous decision victory over Farkhad Sharipov to become a dual-weight world champion and one of the biggest prospects in MMA outside of the UFC. jose mural night]]>
