Nations & Competitors for the IMMAF Asian Open Championships

– MARINA BAY SANDS, SINGAPORE – 12 – 16 JUNE The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) has announced the national teams and competitors registered for its inaugural IMMAF Asian Open Championships in Singapore, which takes place from June 12 to 16 at the Marina Bay Sands. The nation vs nation, Amateur MMA tournament forms part of UFC Fight Night Singapore’s fan activities that lead up to the highly anticipated UFC event at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Saturday June 17 2017. The 2017 IMMAF Asian Open Championships is free and open to the public and will showcase both regional and international MMA talent as it competes to earn IMMAF’s prestigious Gold, Silver and Bronze medals across the weight divisions. The championships marks IMMAF’s first venture into Asia and offers a regional proving ground for local athletes aspiring to compete in IMMAF’s flagship World Championships in Bahrain this November. The 17 participating national teams include Australia, Bahrain, Belarus, Chinese Taipei, Czech Republic, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, United Kingdom and USA. Debuting nations are Belarus, Chinese Taipei, Singapore and South Korea. #1 ranked Amateur MMA team, Sweden, brings a host of decorated athletes that include: Gabriella Ringblom (2014 World Silver, 2015 World Gold, 2015 European Silver, 2016 World Gold, 2016 Africa Gold, 2016 European Silver), Irman Smajic (2015 European Silver, 2016 World Gold, 2016 European Silver, 2017 European Gold), Anja Saxmark (2015 World Silver, 2015 European Silver, 2017 European Bronze), Renato Vidovic (2015 European Bronze, 2016 European Gold) and Daniel Schalander (2016 European Silver).
