Korea MMA Federation Brings New Talent to IMMAF Asian Open

KMMAF JOINS IMMAF AS MEMBER The Korea MMA Federation’s application for membership has been accepted by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation ahead of next month’s 2017 IMMAF Asian Open in Singapore. IMMAF is looking forward to welcoming Team South Korea to participate for the very first time. Founded in 2008 and based in Seoul, the KMMAF is registered with the Korea Olympic Committee (KOC) on which the federation’s President Kim Dae Ryeong sits as a representative. The organisation oversees over 600 MMA clubs and gyms nationwide including the Korean National Police MMA association. It organises Amateur MMA competitions 2-3 times a month and the professional ALL FC, quarterly, which is broadcast nationally via SBS TV. IMMAF President, Kerrith Brown, said: “Korea’s martial arts history can be traced back centuries ‘Before Christ’, and the region is rich in different martial arts traditions with Taekwondo its biggest export. South Korea has in recent times been home to iconic martial arts movie action.
